Pack ordinary eyewear. DEF CON banned Meta-style glasses with recording capability for DEF CON 34, 6–9 August 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall. Surreptitious filming is a Code of Conduct violation. There's no exception for prescription glasses that record.

The Register had the rule on 28 July, before anyone badged in. Surreptitious filming was already a Code of Conduct hit; 2026 named the product class that made hidden easier. Prescription frames that record are not exempt. Visible cameras, a yes from the faces in the frame. Eva Galperin’s line is hers. DEF CON wrote the rule.
