Typhoon Champi killed one person and injured 350 in Taiwan by Friday night as nearly 1,000 flights were cancelled. Okinawa's islands are next in line.

Taiwan spent Friday indoors. Typhoon Champi, a storm that was the strongest on the planet earlier this week, brushed past the island's north-east coast with gusts near 191km/h, and almost everything shut.
