A Canadian cybersecurity executive who worked in ransomware negotiation has been charged with conspiracy and extortion offences in the US. Several news outlets, citing sources, have linked the case to the FBI's investigation of the ShinyHunters hacking group. The FBI hasn't publicly confirmed that link, and the complaint against him is sealed.
