Fremantle's Walyalup Bridge opens four months early

Fremantle's new $596 million Walyalup Bridge opened on Sunday 1 November, about four months ahead of schedule. Cyclists say its design isn't safe enough.

Fremantle has its river crossing back. The new Walyalup Bridge opened to walkers on Sunday morning and to traffic that evening, about four months earlier than the year-long closure Perth drivers had been bracing for.
