Adelaide council bans fossil fuel ads, TDU village at risk

Adelaide City Council voted 5 to 4 on 27 October to ban coal, oil and gas ads and sponsorship from 1 July 2027. The state says it risks the TDU village.

Adelaide City Council has voted to stop taking advertising and sponsorship from coal, oil and gas companies. The state government says that puts the Tour Down Under's village in Victoria Square at risk, and the Lord Mayor calls it "virtue signalling".
