You can now pre-order a 2-nanometre chip in a Mac mini. Apple put new silicon in the Mac mini and the Mac Studio on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, a couple of weeks before its September iPhone event. Its main announcement was headlined "Apple introduces M6 and M5 Ultra for a big leap in performance and AI compute," with a separate Mac mini post and a Studio post the same day. Pre-orders opened that morning. The machines start arriving on 22 September, and the 512 GB Studio follows in late October.
