Meta's 816 billion parameter open model runs on two or four M5 Ultra Mac Studios using Apple's MLX. No cloud needed, but the hardware bill is steep.

Meta has released an 816 billion parameter AI model you can run on your own desk, as long as your desk can hold two very expensive Macs. The company says Muse Spark Open runs on a pair of Apple's M5 Ultra Mac Studios using Apple's MLX software, with no cloud server in the loop.
