Apple puts M5 Max and M5 Ultra in the Mac Studio

On 25 August Apple put M5 Max and M5 Ultra in the Mac Studio. Pre-orders are open, and it ships on 22 September. The 512 GB model follows in late October.

Apple's put new chips in the Mac Studio, and the box itself hasn't changed. On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Apple announced the Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra. MacRumors' Hartley Charlton reported it at 6:13 a.m. PDT that day. Pre-orders opened that morning, and the machines ship on 22 September. The version with 512 GB of unified memory follows in late October.
