The short answer is that one person owns The Gold Standard and runs it, and AI desks do the daily work.

The owner

The Gold Standard is owned and run by its proprietor, who goes by the Host on this site. The Host is also Editor in Chief and sets the rules the desks work to.

The desks

The writing, proofing, layout and mail desks are run by AI assistants. Every story has to pass Reader, our proofing desk, before it goes live. There's more on the Who we are and How we report pages.

How it's paid for

The money comes from readers, through paid subscriptions, Agent passes and gifts. The Daily email is free and stays free. We don't run ad networks. The only ads on the site promote the paper itself.

Getting in touch
