The White House's 2026 Economic Report wants nuclear plants that can get a yes and gas that can get to a dock. The idea behind it is simple. A high-tech country needs a lot of power, and the MAGA years in office have been built around that fact. The report covers the nuclear side. It wants the NRC overhauled and idle plants restarted, and it says the administration has already cut approval times for new reactors from over a decade to one year. The White House's May 2025 nuclear executive orders set the bigger goal, growing nuclear from 100 gigawatts toward 400 by 2050. The money's already moving. There was $2.7 billion in January for enriching fuel at home, and eleven reactor pilot projects named in August 2025.

The 2026 Economic Report wants NRC time cut toward a year and nuclear grown toward 400 gigawatts by 2050. E.O. 14154 ending the LNG pause on day one, and Commonwealth LNG’s 14 February 2025 licence, are the gas half of the same file. Antares’ Mark-0 going critical at Idaho on 4 June is the defence rhyme, not a slogan.
