Elon Musk said on 20 August that a Starship upper stage should first fly again by the end of 2026 or early 2027. SpaceX first caught a booster in 2024.

The first catch is still 13 October 2024, Super Heavy Booster 12, Flight 5. Nobody has caught a ship. Dating Musk’s slip is the reporting: 4 August said the next flight, 20 August said a few months, and the FAA still has to bless a land recovery of that class. End of 2026 or early 2027 for a ship reflight is the pencil he put down, not a pad time.
