How to lock down your WhatsApp privacy settings

WhatsApp is upgrading its two-step PIN to a password. How to set that up and use Privacy Checkup to control calls, groups and who sees you.

WhatsApp is changing how it protects your account. Its help centre now says the six-digit PIN used for two-step verification is being upgraded to a password. If you already have a PIN, you can switch to a password from the same settings screen. If you've never turned two-step verification on at all, now's a good time to do it.
