How to check if your email was in a data breach

If you've ever wondered whether your email address is floating around in a hacker's spreadsheet, there's a free way to find out. Have I Been Pwned, a breach-checking service, collects data from public breaches and lets you search for your own address. As of 17 October 2026, its home page said it had loaded 17,846,363,019 pwned addresses from 1,045 pwned websites.
