2026 on track to be Australia's wettest El Niño year

Australia is on track for its wettest El Niño year on record, even with near record Pacific warming. Storms are forecast for half the country this week.

El Niño is supposed to mean drought in Australia. This year the country is getting soaked anyway, and the forecast says the storms aren't finished.
