The Texas power company Vistra looks set to get about US$4.2 billion in federal money to squeeze more electricity out of nuclear plants it already runs. A person familiar with the plan told Reuters on Saturday, US time, that Energy Secretary Chris Wright will announce the loan on Monday, US time, at Vistra's Perry plant on Lake Erie in Ohio. The money would pay for "uprates" at at least three of Vistra's four nuclear stations.
