ESA's Hera spacecraft has finally laid eyes on where it's going. On Wednesday 7 October, two years to the day after launch, the European Space Agency released Hera's first glimpse of the Didymos asteroids. That's the pair NASA's DART probe crashed into in 2022. In the picture they're one faint dot, seen from about 236,500 kilometres away. But it's the dot Hera's been chasing since 2024.
