Ask anyone who's dropped a phone in the surf or left it in the back of an Uber what they miss most. It's rarely the phone. It's the photos, the messages and the two-factor codes, and the hours spent rebuilding everything. A proper backup turns a lost phone from a disaster into an annoying afternoon, and it's the first thing you'll need when a new phone arrives.
