Every loyalty card, online order and app sign-up leaves a record somewhere. Most of the time you never think about it, until a breach notice lands in your inbox and you realise a company you'd forgotten about still had your date of birth. Breaches keep making news, from the FBI's ShinyHunters arrests to police seizing the KillSec leak site.
