President Donald Trump has given America's submarine program a new shipyard, and he's given taxpayers a piece of it. At Sparrows Point outside Baltimore on Tuesday 6 October, US time, he announced Arsenal-2. It's a US$6.6 billion yard that Anduril Industries will build to make parts for the Navy's Virginia-class attack submarines. Then he dropped the surprise. "American taxpayers will receive a 40 percent stake in the new shipyard," Trump said. "We get 40 percent."
